I admit that scribbling—much like sketching—is neither my strong suit nor my favorite stage of drawing. I typically start with light guide lines, but once I know the subject—be it an object or a person—my hands remember the skills, and I move straight to the final strokes. That’s why I often execute works in one go using familiar techniques; scribbling isn’t my strongest path, and this wasn’t my first attempt at drawing this portrait in this style.
